NEW VACUUM CLEANERS: LOWER ENERGY CONSUMPTION, BETTER PERFORMANCE!
THE ENERGY LABEL REVOLUTION
IN 3 SIMPLE POINTS
From 1 September 2014, energy labels have become part of the vacuum world, appearing on canisters, corded stick vacuums and carpet cleaners
introduced into the European Community from that date.
Thanks to the energy label, the consumer can compare vacuums against the objective and shared criteria of energy efficiency, suction performance on various surfaces - hard floors and carpet - filter efficiency and sound levels.
By virtue of the limits set by the new regulations, new vacuums will use less
energy* and guarantee better suction performance. It is therefore very
important to carefully read all the details regarding the surface cleaning
capability of the vacuum on the energy label, and not just stop at the energy
efficiency rating.
*The rated power must be less than or equal to 1600W, with annual consumption measuring less than 62KWh.
THE ENERGY LABEL
HOW TO READ IT
1 - 2 Name or manufacturer brand and model identification code
3 Energy efficiency index: 7 classes from A to G
4 Average annual energy consumption*
5 Filtration efficacy - Dust Re-Emission Class
6 Carpet Cleaning Performance Class
7 Hard Floor Cleaning Performance Class
8 Sound level - Sound power expressed in decibels
This could assist a consumer, who only has hard floors or carpets at home, to choose the right product.
* The calculation is estimated in a home with an average surface area of 87m2, where the vacuum is used 50 times per year (just less than once a week).
Note: The letter A always indicates the best class for all parameters. With regard to cleaning capacity, class A corresponds to suction efficacy that is greater than or equal to 111% for hard floors, and greater than or equal to 91% for carpets.
RESEARCH AND INNOVATION SERVING THE CONSUMER
With the introduction of the energy label, Hoover presents a new generation of vacuum cleaners designed to use less energy, but that guarantees better cleaning performance than older high wattage products. The results achieved, not only for class A energy efficiency, are the outcome of a great deal of research and development that have led to identifying unique and patented solutions.
